It’s been a while….
There’s been several tours since we last did this, so anyone want to share stories?!
How often do you look back? Really reflect on what you’ve done? The insignificance of it all; pointless arguments, inside jokes, funny hair cuts. But do you ever wonder how you’ll be remembered? Or if what you’ve done or what you’re doing means anything at all? What will your songs sound like when you’re dead and gone? Will tears fall when the last note is sung? And how will your story be told? Will your words leave a bitter taste in their mouths? Or will they even remember you at all? Compassion. The concept is rather simple, most know what it means to be civil. But there truly is a fine line between sweet and sour. Give too much of yourself away and you’ll be all used up. Not enough and no one will be around to share this with. So what is it that motivates us to be better, gentler, more refined? I like to think it’s those close to us, close to the heart and soul. Those who carried you to the car after you puked on their shoes, those who took the blame for breaking the window when it was you who casts the stone, those who will be by your side when reality knocks on your door both good and bad. But more importantly, those whose stories you will share with your kids and grand kids, and their kids, and their grand kids, in hopes to somehow keep this all alive. Chivalry, decency, kindness, compassion, desire, strength. How will you be remembered? - John O’callaghan

I saw The Maine live for the third time, for the first time in nearly two years, Thursday night. I cried at the beginning and end of their set haha. I was just so proud of them! I've been a fan since 08 and they've been a huge part of my life since then. I had never met any of the guys before, but I got the honor to meet Pat, Garrett, John & Kennedy :3 I gave Pat my letter that I had addressed to all of them and ugh, he's so sweet. He flashed me this huge smile and wished me a good night! After I got my merch, I met Garrett and we talked about Shaun of the Dead and how funny it was. After that, I waited to meet Jared and Kennedy, but they were on the opposite side of where we were and I wasn't sure if I could go over there since there were intimidating looking guys packing up stuff. Five minutes later, John comes right by me and AGH. He's been my love since I first started listening to them and so when I asked for him to sign my ticket and if it was okay if we could get a picture, he was like "yeah!!!" and he realized how short I was (I'm 5 feet tall) and he was like "Wow!" and laughed. In the picture, you can tell he was crouching down hahahaha. After that, I asked him if I could give him a kiss on the cheek and he had to bend down to hear me (el oh el) and so I repeated myself and he was like "Yeah, totally! Go for it!" And he had just showered so his skin was all pretty and smooth. That's got to be the boldest thing I've ever had to do in my entire life. Then after that, I met Kennedy and oh my, he is so sweet! :3 They're all such great guys. I really do wonder if they read my letter though! They must get so many!
Ugh, I know. Exams suck ass.
But that I such a great story! I know what you mean about being proud of them. I felt the same way last time I saw them. They’re all so adorable! I have the opposite issue with height as you though. Haha. I’m 5’8” and I’m normally as tall as the band guys I meet, including Pat and Garrett. I’m so jealous that you got to kiss John! I barely had time to talk to him! Haha. Anyways, thanks for sharing. (:
just-a-wannabe-mermaid asked: I saw them for the first time on the 18th in Arizona and it was great! John just kept talking about how he's so proud to be from AZ. These girls were yelling "Take your shirt off!" So John replied "You take your shirt off!" I personally found it funny.
He started to tear up at the end and so did some girls in the crowd so he said, "No more crying. There's no fucking tears in rock and roll."
So, there is my story:)
Haha. That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing. (:
