I took my best friend to the show in Philly for her birthday over the Summer, but her parents wouldn’t let her come unless my mom drove. We ended up parking a mile and a half away from the venue (our own stupidity) and walked to it. The show was amazing, and afterwards we got to meet them. My mom didn’t want me to say anything, but I told them about how she’s on Chemo and drove us two hours and then walked a mile and a half just to get us to the show. John reached over the bar and hugged her for a while and told her to kick ass and after he hugged her, he looked at me and laughed and said “But I’m not gonna give you a hug.” (He did though) And the whole band was thanking her for bringing us out in her condition and telling her to take care and not to give up. She was talking to John and told him how much she loved their music and how she liked when he said “you dirty fucks” during the 24 hours concert, which made him and Garrett bust up laughing. The next day when she took me back to my place she told me how awesome it was and that she had the best time. So for that, I thank the band from the bottom of my heart, for being so nice to my mom and giving her the night of her (and my) life <3
